David Vincent Mills has been performing professionally for over 20 years and has performed all over the world. With over 200 dates per year and whether it be solo piano, one of his bands or projects, or as a sideman for another band in any genre, Mills' experience, versatility and musicality as a performer is highly sought after.

Solo Piano

Club and Casual Dates

For intimate settings including upscale restaurants, weddings, private parties to more energetic settings including clubs, bars, and lively parties playing jazz standards, contemporary classics in the genres of rock, pop, R&B, blues, country, folk, as well as original compositions. Mills is known for his adaptability in musical styles and ability to read the room and his audience and will play accordingly to the desired ambiance.

Project 'DiVoM' (i.e. jazzy funk)

Project 'DiVoM' (i.e. jazzy funk) is an eclectic and progressive jazzy funk power trio intended for an energetic and danceable show suitable for lively restaurants, clubs, private events and concerts. The band performs all original tunes by Mills featuring Mills' funky, feel-good, and at times virtuosic piano and keyboard skills.

Project 'Sticks & Bones'

Project 'Sticks & Bones' is an eclectic and progressive jazzy funk power duo intended for an energetic and danceable show suitable for lively restaurants, clubs, private events and concerts. Featuring the same great music as Project 'Junk' but pared down to just keyboards and drums for an even more awe inspiring show that is capable of a full band sound but with only 2 musicians. 

Project 'Jazz'

Project 'Jazz' is a classic piano trio or sometimes a quartet utilizing a horn player suitable for restaurants, clubs, private events and concerts performing quintessential bebob, straight ahead, and fusion repertoire, but with an emphasis on the straight ahead period of jazz between 1949-1969. 

Project 'Nazz' (i.e. The New Jazz Project) ~

Project 'Nazz' is a classic piano trio suitable for restaurants, clubs, private events and concerts performing Mills' originals and arrangements of contemporary classics such as the Beatles or Radio Head in the style of 'modern' straight ahead. 

Duos to Big Bands

Any conceivable combination of instruments, including vocals, playing any genre of music is available for any possible situation! If you can come up with it, I can provide it to fit your needs!

Conversations in Music

'Conversations in Music' is an annual improvised music concert series that Mills unveiled in 2008 with his first solo piano concert in Sedona Arizona. In subsequent years he has experimented with different configurations of performers, from a dancer to other musicians.

3 Squares

3 Squares, founded by David Vincent Mills with life long friend and musical colleague, bassist Daren Burns, and long time friend and musical colleague, drummer Craig Bunch, is a progressive instrumental jazz trio, who has played together for twenty years, that embraces the tradition of jazz by composing original works as vehicles for improvisation.

Zoetrope Orchestra

Zoetrope Orchestra is a project co-founded by David Vincent Mills with life long friend and musical colleague Daren Burns, who create and perform with a live band all original music scores to silver screen classics of the silent film era. 

Mighty Minstrels

Mighty Minstrels is a project founded by David Vincent Mills and his wife and poet Jen Valencia and poet Gary Every. Combining Mills' piano and keyboard compositions, Native American Flute and Drums, and sound effects with the poetry of writer/artist Valencia and award-winning poet Every, they forge a force of poets and musicians to perform original works in an unique format for audiences that are hungry for something different.

Spork Bender Orchestra

Sporkbender Orchestra is a circus band performing Mill's original compositions and arrangements of period music from the height of the circus era. This future project will be coming soon.

Sideman

David Vincent Mills performs with literally dozens of musicians in groups ranging from duos to big bands playing all conceivable genres of music suitable for piano or keyboards in any setting.
